Sanjole exhibits 5G Testing at Mobile World Congress 2018, Barcelona

As the industry prepares to implement 5G wireless, variations in 5G technology are surfacing faster than standards can be evaluated and ratified. 5G NR vendors are competing in the race to establish early adoption and achieve first-to-market milestones. Sanjole’s WaveJudge 5G wireless test module includes test capabilities that support the most recent 5G NR standards, and they will be exhibiting it at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, February 26 to March 1, 2018.

More than 108,000 are expected to attend the 2018 GSMA’s Mobile World Congress, where industry leaders, visionaries and innovators will explore the trends that will shape mobile in the years ahead. Show highlights include a keynote speech by Chris Johnson of Nokia, a Sanjole customer, and a Future Networks Seminar on 5G for Industry-Specific Services. Be sure to stop by Sanjole’s booth where you’ll find to answers to your questions about wireless testing for 4G, 5G, IoT, and V2X.

Sanjole’s booth is Stand 6L50 located in Hall 6. Come see the future of wireless testing!

WaveJudge 5000 Used to Performance Test C‑V2X

WaveJudge 5000 Used to Performance Test C‑V2X

Sanjole’s WaveJudge 5000 Wireless Test Solution is helping pave the way for smarter and more automated cars in the near future.

The WaveJudge 5000 was used to test Cellular V2X (C-V2X) in a C-V2X commercial solution – supporting the latest C-V2X Direct Communications standard based on 3GPP Release 14. This marks an major milestone for the future of C-V2X testing, an important technology enabler for enhanced road safety and future autonomous cars. It is also establishing the foundation for 5G V2X that will bring even more advanced capabilities.

Cellular V2X leverages existing LTE networks for V2X network communications, offering additional applications and services when optimized for C-V2X.

Sanjole Tests IoT Device for Tier 1 Operator

Sanjole Tests IoT Device for Tier 1 Operator

Smart meter IoT testing

A smart meter similar to this was tested using the CipherJudge.

Sanjole’s CipherJudge was used by a leading US Tier 1 Operator to test and troubleshoot an LTE Smart Meter. The Operator’s engineers were able to test a new Smart Meter before deployment for issues that had the potential to bring down an LTE macrocell.

The CipherJudge, an add-on to the WaveJudge 5000, is a pocket-sized device that physically connects to any UE/Terminal/Handset (including iPhone!). By intercepting the RF signal the WaveJudge/CipherJudge is able to decode all encrypted messages between the UE and the eNodeB. In doing so, the WaveJudge/CipherJudge enables engineers to test encrypted LTE communications, capture/decode encrypted VoLTE protocols (including RRC/NAS and SIP/RTP), debug handover issues, and measure UE performance/throughput in the lab or in a deployed network.

This ability to diagnose problems of a UE operating in a network serving hundreds of other users while encryption is enabled makes Sanjole’s CipherJudge a powerful tool in any engineer’s arsenal. Learn more about CipherJudge.

Tier 1 Service Provider Selects Sanjole’s CipherJudge to Monitor Ciphered VoLTE Calls

Tier 1 Service Provider Selects Sanjole’s CipherJudge to Monitor Ciphered VoLTE Calls

Since Voice over LTE (VoLTE) calls are ciphered it was not possible for this Tier 1 Service Provider to decode control-plane messages or user-plane data/codec info.

They were not able to perform important VoLTE call setup testing, dropped protocol call analysis, and call quality benchmarking. Because they were unable to do vital device/terminal (UE) testing to determine VoLTE call conformance or call quality, the Terminals could not be approved for usage on their network.

Sanjole’s CipherJudge and WaveJudge provided the testing solution. Using two CipherJudge units along with the WaveJudge 5000 LTE RF Sniffer, they successfully placed ciphered VoLTE calls from one Terminal to another to perform testing and monitoring.

New CipherJudge product introduced

New CipherJudge product introduced

Sanjole introduces another exciting product called CipherJudge which allows identification of any UE on a commercialized LTE network. Identification of UE’s in the field can be quite difficult due to the lack of information available in a live network.  UE traffic is typically encrypted and the ID being used are temporary such as RNTI or GUTI.  The CipherJudge allows interception of critical ID and key related information from the USIM card which in turn is used by the WaveJudge 5000 powerful real time InteliJudge2 modules and provides quick and easy identification of targeted UE’s.  This allows analysis of one or more UE’s within any network, tracking all data and control plane messaging completely decrypted while charting the channel’s conditions.

“The ability to track any UE regardless of manufacturer within any LTE network, without having to rely on the vendor’s analytics, allow a completely independent view of the behavior during performance affecting times and is extremely beneficial” says Sanjole President, Joe Fala.
